The Louisiana House of Representatives resoundingly voted down a bill sponsored by Rep. Jay Morris that would have permanently removed some exemptions to the state’s sales tax.

CAT on the hot seat

Members of the House Ways & Means Committee spent several hours on Monday reviewing Gov. John Bel Edwards’ proposed Commercial Activities Tax, and when it was over the media joined committee Republicans in declaring the bill dead.
