Unanimous jury bill advances

Louisiana is one of just two states that do not require a jury to return a unanimous verdict to convict a defendant in all felony cases.

Another step toward investment in early education

Louisiana currently spends no state general fund dollars to subsidize the cost of early childhood education for low-income parents, even though thousands of families are languishing on a state waiting list.
