Louisiana slips in Kids Count ranking

The Annie E. Casey Foundation released its annual Kids Count data book on Wednesday, and the news is not good for Louisiana.

Kids Count in Louisiana

The Nola.com/Times-Picayune editorial board is unusually blunt in assigning blame for Louisiana’s continued failure to do right by its children. The Pelican State ranked 48 of the 50 states in the annual Kids Count survey from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, as far too many of our state’s youngest residents continue to live in poverty and have parents who struggle to find work.
