Unemployment rate continues to drop

Now at 4.6 percent -- its lowest since March 2008 -- the unemployment rate in Louisiana continued to drop for the eighth consecutive month in December.

Contingency planning

Louisiana’s 2017-18 budget is currently balanced. But Republican state lawmakers don’t believe the state’s revenue projections will hold up, and have asked Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne to provide a list of $60 million in potential mid-year cuts.
