Louisiana must support young parents

Three out of every 4 children with parents ages 18 to 24 live in poverty in Louisiana. Younger parents typically have fewer savings and lower levels of education, which creates barriers to success and opportunity for their families.

Sept. 13: Census: Income up, poverty down

Household income rose sharply across the country in 2015, and the poverty rate declined, according to new U.S. Census data released Tuesday that shows families may finally be emerging from the economic devastation wrought by the Great Recession.
