Louisiana struggles with food insecurity

One in 4 Louisiana families has a hard time putting food on the table throughout the year - the second highest rate of “food hardship” in the nation, according to the latest data from the Food Research Action Center.

Reason to celebrate, but more work ahead

SNAP: A rural lifeline

Families living in rural areas are more likely to rely on the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, than those in urban areas, according to new research by the Food Research Action Center.
