Another step toward investment in early education

Louisiana currently spends no state general fund dollars to subsidize the cost of early childhood education for low-income parents, even though thousands of families are languishing on a state waiting list.

Hospitality workers unite

New Orleans’s hospitality workers are the engine of the city’s tourism-based economy. Unfortunately, many of those workers don’t earn enough to maintain a decent standard of living, and 500 employees of the Hilton Riverside recently decided to do something about it.
