Tax incentives are (still) costly

Louisiana’s panoply of tax rebate and incentive programs cost the state $1.1 billion in tax revenue that otherwise would have been collected from corporations and individuals, according to a state audit released Monday.

A “grand slam” tax plan

Louisiana residents pay the nation’s highest sales tax. Income taxes collections are among the lowest in the country, thanks mainly to some massive deductions that don’t exist in most other states.

AHCA would be devastating for Louisiana’s finances
